    From ancient times, nuts and dried fruit are a product of renowned Iranian origin for the whole world.due to unique ecology and rich soil, Iran is one of the largest fruit producers in the Middle East and North Africa, where the diversity of climatic zones makes it possible to cultivate an assorted group of crops.Iran is concideerd one the largest producers of dried fruits and nuts in the Middle East and the leader of it's markets and industries related to it

     

    Medicinal Plants

    The land of Iran is a privileged country with a high ranking in terms of plant richness and biodiversity,with 11 of the world's 13 known climates.According to botanists and researchers, the number ofplant species in Iran is about 8,000 species,which is at least twice the size of the European continentin terms of species diversity. Researches has shown that more than 2300 species of plants in the country have medicinal,aromas,spices and cosmetics properties. In addition, 1728 species are native plants of Iran and considered as a monopoly capacity of the country.

     

    Safrron

    Iranian Saffron known as the “red gold”, saffron is a magical ingredient in Persian culture, from aromatic foods and colorful desserts, to the physical and spiritual medicine.The expensive spice has long been a high-demand commodity all ovver the word.Iran offers the best weather and soil conditions for the growth and prosperity of the saffron flower. This is reflected in the quality, which is why Iranian saffron is known for its world's best saffron quality, from which various types of saffron are extracted (Negin, Sargol, Pushal).

Highlights from the INC World Nut and Dried Fruit Congress
The second edition of the INC Academia, Executive Program on Nuts and Dried Fruits, closed on May 21, 2019, with a total of 51 students from 25 countries, 21% more than in the previous edition. With this success, the INC Academia continues to grow as the education program for food industry professionals to learn about the basics of the nut and dried fruit business.
Prof. Linda Tapsell Presented the Latest Findings on Nuts and Health at the Nutrition Seminar in Boca Raton
At the conference, titled “Nuts as part of a healthy diet: evidence and insights from research”, Prof. Linda Tapsell, Senior Professor of School of Medicine of the University of Wollongong, Australia, talked about different health topics in relation to nut consumption and the scientific evidence to date.
